The Design Of Ground Station Software On Small Ducted Fan UAV

Small ducted fan UAV are able to take-off and to vertically land, hove and makesmaneuver flight, whose special ducted fan structure avoids harms of the rotor owing tohigh-speed rotation to the surrounding population and environment. It can realize the fastvertical taking-off, landing and hovering in the complex terrain conditions, and isconvenient to maneuver and maintain flexibly.In order to ensure small fan ducted UAV reliably perform a variety of missions, weneed ground station software to make mission plans for UAV, and take real-time monitoron flight and airborne equipments etc. This paper, on the basis of the development Statusof small ducted fan UAV and research background from ground station software, brieflyintroduces the software design of the ground station. It takes deep study onsecond-development technology to GIS of the Google Earth electronic map, constructsthe display and interactive environment of electronic map in ground station. As well, viasoftware programming, it can draw the routes in the Google Earth view function.In this paper, a small ducted UAV ground station software structure is designed, andthe key technologies to realize the modules and vital methods to realize softwareplatform are considered. On the basis of Google Earth electronic map, usingsecond-development technology of Google Earth, the UAV ground station softwarewhich satisfies the UAV mission requirements in the VC++software platform isdeveloped scalability. The ground station software is quite able to display the UAV flightmission data, plan flight routes and payback data, alarm faults and carry out self-help.Based on the above mentioned functions, the data communication protocol suiting smallducted fan UAV and ground station lays down. What this thesis has done lays a solidfoundation for the further development of small ducted fan UAV ground station softwarewhich meets the needs of practical project applications.
