Sealed electromagnetic relay is a common relay with typical structure, which is widely used in industrial control, and other fields of modern communications. It plays an important role in the implementation of control, signal transmission, distribution system and so on. In a large control system or communication system, it needs a large amount of relay. Therefore, it has great significance to improve the reliability of each relay to extend the average time between failures of the system.Among all the failure models of electromagnetic relay, contact failure and structural failure is the most important. Analysis of the mechanism of the contact failure has great significance in order to improve the reliability of the contacts.In previous studies. People are more concerned about the contact failure, while the structural failure is ignored. However, it plays an important role in the failure mode of a sealed electromagnetic relay. Analysis of the structural failure is mainly for analysis of the fit situation of the mechanical reaction force characteristic curve and simulation suction characteristic curves of the electromagnetic system. Through the analysis of simulation suction characteristic and mechanical reaction force characteristic,it may reflect a key factor in product reliability index, Thereby providing an effective analytical method for the further optimization design of sealed electromagnetic relays.This paper completes the simulation and analysis of the electromagnetic system of the electromagnetic relay in base of the ANSYS analysis method of finite element. First, it obtains the suction characteristic through the static electromagnetic field analysis system.Then, it makes analysis of magnetic field distribution and flux leakage small sealed case to validate the structural design of the electromagnetic relay rationality. Second, it verifies the reasonableness of the relay through the fit situation of the mechanical reaction force characteristic curve and simulation suction characteristic curves. Furthermore, it calculates other sports characteristics through the static characteristics of electromagnets suction characteristics, combined with the mechanical properties of the reaction force. Finally, it makes some analysis of the contact failure, which can make classification and discrimination of the contact adhesive failure mechanism. This all can provide a reference to improving the reliability and life of the relay, so as to further optimization design of sealed electromagnetic relays.
