Chaotic oscillation phenomenon is the key problem that affects the safe and stableoperation of interconnected power systems, the generation mechanism of the chaoticoscillation of the in-depth analysis and research, on the basis of this, put forward the effectiveanalysis method and control strategy for the chaotic oscillation problem.This paper first discusses the background and significance of the research, reviewed thechaos theory and application research situation, according to the existing research on chaoticoscillation in power system problem put forward the research task of this thesis, and thenintroduces the mechanism of chaos from the origin, development, nature and definition ofchaos, summarizes the basic characteristics and several kinds of chaotic motion the route tochaos in power system is analyzed, and several common chaotic oscillation discriminantmethod and the typical methods of chaos control, each order mathematical model of powersystem based on the Matlab simulation, obtained form chaotic power system, then accordingto the two order power system chaos phenomenon, this paper adopts the adaptivebackstepping control and sliding mode to suppress the chaotic oscillation in power systemwith variable structure control of two kinds of methods, and through the MATLAB simulationverify the feasibility of the control method. Analysis the chaotic oscillation system for the twoorder of power systems with uncertain disturbances, the adaptive backstepping control andsliding mode variable structure control method combined with the proposed adaptivebackstepping sliding mode, a new control method. The basic idea of the method is a complexnonlinear system into subsystems of not more than the number of the order, then for eachsubsystem respectively design Lyapunov function (V function) and virtual control inputs,subsystem in front of the need to achieve stabilization through virtual control subsystembehind, so control the amount of real reciprocating until the whole system, then the controllerdesign method of stepwise refinement, allowing the system to achieve the desiredperformance.The results show that the chaotic oscillations of the power system can be controlled; totake control of a targeted strategy to solve the chaotic control of power system is verynecessary.
