Abstract/Summary:
Twin-screw pump is a kind of displacement rotor pump which is been widely used, it canbe used to transport all kinds of viscous medium, and also can be used in the manufacture ofcompressor. The key part of the twin-serew pump is a pair of male and female rotors and theirbushing.so how to work out a high quality screw pump is the test that must be face.Traditionalprocessing method of the screw is finger milling cutter which rough machining the helicalgroove, this way of cutting tool results in low efficieney and high wastage.Nowadays,manyforeign country using the indexable formed disk-type milling cutter as the special tool toprocess the helical groove roughly,it not only improves the efficiency, but reduce the toolcost. This paper takes the twin-screw pump of Tianjin Pumps&Machinery Group Co., Ltd. asan example,explores and researches on design method of the indexable formed disk-typemilling cutter correspond to its type.1. The characteristics of twin-screw are analyzed, then establish the frame of theindexable formed disk-type milling cutter combined with screw theory knowledge, then withthe forming principle of cylindrical spiral curved surface calculates the axial profile of themilling cutter.2. Export milling cutter’s axial profile date by using MATLAB software according to thetwin-screw type line’s date of Tianjin Pumps&Machinery Group Co., Ltd. Then plottedcontour curves of the reasonable date points.According to characteristics and distribution ofblade of the indexable formed disk-type milling cutter, reasonably choose the blade,thencompile fitting program by using Matlab with the cutting rule of the blade and the method ofsubsection-based fitting program. it is concluded that the date point of blade groove in thecircumferential distribution of blade coordinate.Combinating the blade and its theory oflocating and clamping with theory of chip-hold groove,the design of chip-hold and the screwhole are finished.3. The3D modeling of the cutter is set up with Pro/E Software according to the datepoints from MATLAB software.then rig out the cutter body and the blade and screw, completethe whole design.4. Analyze the milling cutter’s profile which reverse the section of screw profile and thescrew’axial profile to test the accuracy of the tool’s profile.
