| Art of classical garden in ancient China is an important achievement of Chinesetraditional arts and also stands for cultural heritage of human beings. It represents the greatarts and history of our motherland, reflects traditional aesthetic taste in the same time. Thereare abundant forms and levels in the landscape of classical gardens, which can be called aminiature of the real nature and also reflects the thoughts of combining the nature andmankind. The landscapes of classical gardens provide broad reference value for modernlandscape design, both in practices and artistic conceptions.As a major part of modern society, residential areas are claimed to provide betterenvironment and quality with social development. Modern Chinese residential areas occupygreater proportion based on the inner reception of traditional culture and art of Chinese people.Modern Chinese residential areas are designed up-to-date, seeking for traditional living stylein the same time. Chinese designers focus on the skills of constructing landscape in classicalgardens, which are used in many modern Chinese residential areas. This paper is to introduceways of constructing modern Chinese landscape based on Chinese classical gardens, alsosummaries systematic tactics based on deep researching of Chinese classical gardens andexcellent modern Chinese residential areas. I wish this paper can be used in projects ofmodern Chinese residential areas in future times, and lead to more attention and study ofChinese traditional cultures such as landscape in gardens.This paper can be divided into five parts. Part1introduces backgrounds, purposes,meanings and main frames, part2introduces four Chinese classical gardens and summarizestheir practices and artistic methods in detail, in part3, I selected three typical modern Chineseresidential areas, made a detailed analysis for using of methods of constructing classicalgarden landscape. In part4, I summarized main ways of constructing landscape in modernChinese residential areas based on the study of gardens and typical modern Chinese examples.In part5, I made a conclusion and overview the development of modern Chinese landscape.Five parts are connected to each other and shown in logical order. |
