The Geographical Argumentation On"the Descriptive Text Of Jingzhou Wan-embankment"

Jingjiang river levees is located on the north shore of Jingjiang river. It’s an important flood barrier for Jianghan plain, and its safety is not only vital to Hubei, but also to China. Thus the country attaches great importance to Jingjiang river levees. This thesis is based on the first-hand original information and content of "The descriptive text of Jingzhou Wan-embankment", the related text of water conservancy, other official and private documents, and combined with field investigation to analyze the case of the Jingjiang river levees. By means of analysing the text of "The descriptive text of Jingzhou Wan-embankment" combining with geography method, to organize and classify the main content of the ancient text, we can gain a clear idea of the Jingjiang river levees in the Qing dynasty. Through the contrast of the levees between the Qing dynasty and contemporary to make a evaluation on the flood control and benefit and some others of Jingjiang river levees. The paper can provide important foundation for the study of Jingjiang river levees’ ecological environment and historical development.aiming to benefit the jingjiang river levees’lasting stability.The main content of this thesis are as follows:(1) Introduce "The descriptive text of Jingzhou Wan-embankment".This ancient book was created by XU Jiagan in qing dynasty. Hubei University library how to get the ancient books has not checked, the ancient book is a unique copy at national level and it has very important status and role;(2)The change of the old jingjiang river watercourse,the result is that the upper part of Jingjiang river watercourse changed little, the lower jingjiang river watercourse changed a lot;(3)The evolution of Jingjiang river levees. From the change of general situation and the river cut-off combined dike, protective embankment, revetment engineering, sluice gate and pump station and etc,to explore the dam and its evolution in the Qing dynasty, as a result, after centuries of government, Jingjiang river levees general embankment changed little;(4)The Jingjiang river embankment’s annual repairs engineering. The results show that modern annual repairs engineering’s mechanizative degree has greatly improved, but many annual repairs engineering still inherited the practice of the Qing dynasty;(5)Jingjiang river levees’s management. Results show that compared with the embankment in the Qing dynasty government management, contemporary management administration is more standardized and institutionalized, but some management methods in the Qing dynasty still can bring enlightenment to the modern management;(6)The emergency flood fighting of Jingjiang river levees’s embankment.The flood-prevention in Qing dynasty had the preliminary system and scale.Modern flood-prevention existing laws and regulations as guarantee, such as flood control and emergency rescue system gradually improve, gradually improve the stand of flood control and institutions, the flood control and emergency rescue ability.(7)"The descriptive text of Jingzhou Wan-embankment" produce enlightenment to the modern construction of jingjiangriver levees.
