At present, the garbage generated during the journey in China is transported tothe railway platform after the train arrives at the station, and then removed by man tothe garbage station. This method not only lacks efficiency but also leads to garbagescattering, which causes secondary pollution. In the newly-built elevated train station,garbage trucks can not enter the railway platform, so the garbage is transferred bypassenger elevator manually from the railway platform, which seriously affects thetraffic in the station. So the busy railway platform needs fast and efficient method ofgarbage transporation.This paper carries out a profound research on Beijing South Station, BeijingWest Railway Station, Guangzhou South Railway Station, etc, investigating theproduction amount of the garbage in railway station, the situation of garbage bagging,physical characteristics of garbage ingredient,and the status quo of garbagetransporation. The paper also carries out an on-site research on the pneumaticconveying system used in hospitals, contaminated clothing, and food waste in themeals base, analyzing the problems and their reasons. Based on this, the paperascertains the feasibility of pneumatic garbage transporation technology in railwaystation and the functional requirements of this system used in railway stations.Aiming at the characteristics of the railway garbage and garbagetransporation,the paper specifies the function of key equipments such as garbageinlets of railway station and the gas-solid garbage separator, and carries out relevantresearch and development; It designs and constructs a set of pneumatic garbagetransporation system and conducts a series of simulated test, investigating rationalilyof design and the reliability of operation through functional tests, calculating thecoefficient of friction between the key system sections and local friction coefficientthrough the pressure-loss test, which provides technical parameters for the practicalapplication of pneumatic garbage transporation system. Based on simulationsystem,the construction of demonstration project is planned, system design andequipment selection are carried out for engineering applications. In addition, the problems such as fan selection of pneumatic garbagetransporation system in high-altitude areas and pipe freezing in winter are discussed,which provides a reference to the application of pneumatic garbage transporationsystem in the plateau and the winter cold regions.
