Automotive fuel economy is the important performance of operating capability,To improve the fuel economy of automotive, firstly, it can be reduce the utility cost ofthe vehicle, with the increasing of automobile amount, worldwide, appeal forconserving energy and reducing emissions is gradually stronger, to improve the fueleconomy of automotive also has reduced the consumption of oil resources andgreenhouse gas emission. It has the vital significance to reduce the consumption of oilresources and greenhouse gas emission。The influence on fuel economy has been discussed from two respects: Thestructure of automobile and the use of automobile. With regard to the structure ofautomobile, The researcher of automobile industry have been concerned withimproving the engine combustion characteristics, lightweight design of auto body, toadopt alternative energy sources measures should be increased the fuel economy. Withregard to the use of automobiles, but some experts and scholars have done a great dealof research have certified the effect on the fuel economy has been on the differentdrivers’ different driving styles. A survey of The United States EPA(TheEnvironmental Protection Department) showed, the difference in driving habits ofcommercial vehicles driver has led to up to35%of fuel–efficient. A Europe’sTransport Department study found, through the fuel-efficient driving training, drivershave risen by an average of10%on fuel economy.Drivers who control the car can ensure vehicle’s straight line driving, to controlspeed to the driver who changed through the throttle and his gears, when to changegear, would a direct impact on the fuel economy. Therefore, this thesis study afuel-efficient driver assistance system for shifting manual transmission vehicle tips todevelop a reference method for the automatic transmission shift control strategy, andintegration onboard diagnostic system (OBD) and navigation systems (GPS) toprovide information, to determine compliance with the driver’s intention to meet therequirements of the road driving conditions economical driving gear, prompt thedriver. The main contents are as following: (1). A comprehensive change gear strategy based on the road conditions and thedriver’s intention. Reference automatic transmission shift control strategy twoparameters, the first shift strategy to develop the economy and power shift policy, andthen the introduction of a comprehensive adjustment factor as a factor to develop acomprehensive strategy shift, and for a comprehensive quantification factor is chosenfrom the OBD engine load rate and get real-time information obtained from the GPSroad slope and the turn.(2). The development of hardware on an auxiliary system of the fuel economy.Auxiliary fuel system needs to be able to drive a variety of real-timeacquisition-related vehicle operating conditions and road information, in accordancewith a predetermined shift comprehensive strategy to determine shift points, andoutput information prompts the driver to shift operations. Therefor, It designed ahardware system using the16-bit Infineon SCM XC2785X as the core., Read theOBD、GPS information through the serial communication, the information of drivinggear prompted by the digital display(3). The development of software on an auxiliary system of the fuel economy. Inthe hardware platform, based on a hierarchical thinking, responsible for theunderlying hardware interaction with the microcontroller, the top layer is responsiblefor the implementation of the policy shift control to facilitate porting of software ondifferent platforms. The system software adopts modularization program, writesoftware on the fuel-efficient system of driver assistance.(4). An auxiliary system of the fuel economy is verified by testing. Choosing asubject’s passenger car, Experiments on road test show the validity of the fuel-efficient system of driver assistance.
