Train operation control (ATC) system plays an key role in train driving safety and efficiency. The performance of the on-board system directly decided to safety of urban railway traffic.At present urban railway traffic system is improving from half-automatic driving to unmanned automatic operation, which greatly boosts the driving efficiency and reduces the man-made accident. However, since the majority of vehicle operation control system are not fully redundant, the train operation level could not degrade to a lower level without the drivers once the fault happens in operation, which will severely impact the driving safety.Therefore, it becomes a hot research topic that the balance between the unmanned automatic operation and the faults which need to be coped with by man.Based on the features of relevant standards and the technology of wireless transmission and monitoring, a technology of emergency processing under the on-board system faults is proposed.The technology could realize the ability of exiting the operation by itself without the driver’s intervention, which insures the efficiency and stability of unmanned automatic operation. The main work of this thesis is as follow:First, analyze the shortages of the unmanned vehicle operation control system and apply the related technical criteria, propose a technology of emergency processing under the onboard system faults.Secondly, based on the analysis of the vehicle operation control system in urban railway traffic, a system with the technology of emergency processing under the onboard system faults is designed.Additionally, the simulation software of the emergency processing system is implemented based on the ColdFire hardware and VxWorks operation systems, including the simulation software of the main function of the onboard system and visual monitoring software.Finally, the test platform is set up and the electric locomotive model is made, which will be used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system under a completed test plan.
