Wet clutch with its smooth working capability, large torque capacity, good heatradiating performance, long life and other advantages, is constantly developed andutilized by the world big automobile manufacturers. This paper relied on a wet clutchproject of our research group, combined with the need of theory research and practicalproject, researched the torque characteristics of wet clutch. The main contents were asfollows:1) Analyzed the principles of two main factors which had a big influence on theworking process of wet clutch—Lubricating oil dynamic viscosity and friction disccoefficient. And then established the calculation model of these two factors.2) Analyzed the mechanism of the drag torque during idling process, the oil filmcharacteristics between the friction plates and the relative size of the surface tension. And then, the calculation model of the equivalent diameter was established under thecondition of two cases: considered of the surface tension and ignored the surface tension. Then, used the equivalent diameter in Newton inner friction law, established thecalculation model of the drag torque. After solving the models, the influence of the dragtorque have been discussed.3) Analyzed the types and characteristics of the torque transmitted by the wetclutch during different stages in the working process. And then established thecalculation model of the oil film thickness, the speed of the drive and driven discs, andthe torque during the slip and lockup stages of the wet clutch on the basis of the oil filmcharacteristics and the simplified model of the transmission system including wet clutch. Then, discussed the transformation conditions of the wet clutch from slip phase tolockup phase. After solving the models, discussed the main factors which affecting thetorque transferred in the working process.4) Built a test rig of wet clutch, compared and analyzed the simulation results andthe bench test results to verify the correct of the models which built in this paper. The researched on the torque characteristics of the wet clutch in this paper, had atheoretical and practical significance for the development and application of wet clutch. |
