With the war gradually transforming to a local war in future, conventional war is still themain way to solve. Paying the minimum price to create the greatest destruction value is thebest in the war. So the precision strike will become the main mode of combat in modernwarfare and the transformation of conventional guided weapons will become an inevitabletrend.Due to the restriction of limited space and severe launch environment of guidedammunition, proposed a design of missile-borne MEMS inertial measurement system,whichis composed of micro inertial measurement unit and data acquisition and storage device, andhas advantages of small volume and high overload resistance. Based on discussing theprinciples and requirements in structural design of MIMU, reduced the volume and weight ofit without decreasing the measurement accuracy. With multiple protections of special pottingmaterials and potting processes, the high-overload resistance of MIMU structure has beengreatly improved.The feasibility analysis and validation on structural design of MIMU byANSYS show that this structural design has good mechanical properties and strongoverload capacity.FPGA is used as the control unit of data acquisition and storage device,regulating A/D conversion of projectile flight information, storage of digital signal to FLASH,which can record projectile flight information along ballistic trajectory.Finally, established error calibration compensation model of MIMU and compensatedinstallation error to improve system accuracy. Shock test and missile-borne test verified thevalidity of Related technologies. Tests show that the system can meet the requirements ofguided ammunitions that micro inertial measurement system should has small size and highoverload resistance, and record data completely during the flight, providing application value to accurate measurement of projectile flight parameters such as attitude, position, speed andso on.
