Maritime transport, mainly based on the container traffic, has become anindispensable component of modern transportation. Especially with the constantlydeepening economic globalization, the foreign trades among nations and regions aremore flourishing and the dependence on the container traffic will increase dramatically.Containr stowage is closely related with operation efficiency, running cost andtransportation safety. Not only can a good stowage plan ensure the navigation safety, italso can enhance the efficiency of loading and unloading of container. Moreover, anoptimization model for stowage will be significative for modern management ofcontainer terminal and shipping. In view of this, this article will discuss about stowage problem of the containerliner transportation which dock a lot of ports. Firstly,in allusion to the ship master bayplan problem to set up the mathematical model for the target of the minimum mixedstowage coefficient, designed particle swarm optimization to optimize the master bayplan problem, and found the most serious mixed-bay for the next step of research.Secondly, studied the slot plan problem of mixed-bay, and established the mathematicalmodel for the target of the minimum amount of rehanding under the conditions to meetthe ship heeling moment constraints. Designed the genetic algorithm to solve it, and thefeasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm is verified with an example.
