A Dalian manufacturing enterprises has held a cutting equipment renovation project, which is in order to improve the machining precision and the production efficiency. And this paper is based on the finished project.First, we comprehend the original cutting equipment status thorough the enterprise, and then detailed analysis the existing equipment which production does not adapt the situation at the present stage, select the suitable PLC, inverter and HMI products. After many discusses with technical personnel of enterprise, the equipment transformation scheme was designed which meet the requirements of the equipment transformation. At last, based on the scheme we begin to design the hardware and software control system of the equipment reconstruction project.The new cutting machine has made significant improvements in feeding equipment and traction way than the original cutting machine, in order to improve the production efficiency, and use the pulse encoder and deviation rectification controller to control the machine precision, but also made it more convenient for the users to set the models, modify the cutting specifications and to choose which models would be used by the use of SIEMENS HMI product.The new cutting machine is mainly composed of SIEMENS S7-200PLC, MM440converter, SMART700touch screen, pulse encoder, deviation rectification controller and other components. Through the6motors and33electromagnetic valves’on or off, the sequence controlling of the entrance, the knife roller, the mechanical hands and so on, made the cutting equipment operated automatically.On the one hand, the success of the transformation of cutting equipment, improves the production efficiency of the enterprise, and makes the new cutting machine could meet all the productions of all models at the same time; on the other hand, perfect control of the machining accuracy, improves the quality of the products greatly, and then increase the market competitiveness of products greatly; In addition, the more increasing of the automation degree of the equipment and the further perfecting of various protection function, saves labor cost of the enterprises even more.
