With the increasingly development of technology, the form and function of architecture has changed dramatically. As the fastest growing structure type all over the world, large-span spatial structure presents the overall level of architecture for the country. To distinguish the traditional structure, large-span structure owns an important characteristic which is the span is large, even hundreds of meters sometimes. And in order to meet the requirements, the spatial structure needs better mechanical property and more reasonable space system. Moreover, this kind of building has economic cost, stiff organization and exquisite appearance, getting the favor of people. Three regular kind of large-span roof styles which contain flatbed grid, space tube truss and Beam String Structure are chosen in this paper and are dealt for comparison and analysis. Then we systematically set forth the spatial forms, mechanical characteristics and economic indicators for them. Besides, aimed at the shortcomings of the Beam String Structure, an original structure style is proposed to reinforce the previous ones.First of all, guided by the related literature domestic and overseas, this paper reviews the development history, practical application and research status of flatbed grid, space tube truss and Beam String Structure, summarizing and discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each structure type. And appearance, node and mechanics are considered as well.This paper makes use of several commercial softwares for design and analysis: MSTCAD for flatbed grid,3D3S and SAP2000for space tube truss and Beam String Structure and ANSYS for the modified one. This paper will describe carefully for the design theories and details of softwares involved. Through the employment of software and analysis of structure, we sum up a few of significant conclusions, looking forward to giving some advice and reference for fellow young engineers.Nowadays, a variety of large-span structures gradually develop perfect, and there exists an important problem for all designers:how to obtain a structure configuration both economically and reasonably. In the process of design, it is as one of the important evaluation indexes of engineering design that which style should be used, what constraints judge the conduction of forces, how to optimize the role of each link. In this paper, the third chapter compares with different kind of structure forms. In support from the existing literatures and regulations, we make the most reasonable structure arrangement, and under the condition of constraints, we make the analysis of their static performance, comparing the economic indicators.2The fourth chapter makes the finite element simulation of modified structure and mechanical analysis on the basis of engineering design and comparative calculation. The results will verify the feasibility and validity of the optimization on the theory, to enhance the safety and economic behavior of structure design.At the end of the thesis, we will summarize the research contents and conclusions above.
