Design And Implementation Of An Android Voice Navigation System

With the rapid development of the economy, the cars which are play more and more important role, have been wildly used in people’s daily life. However, the popularizing of the cars has brought us many social problems, for example, it increases the amount of the traffic accident, and the roads become more crowded. The emergency of these problems urge the cars to become smarter, safer and more comfortable. That a more convenient and accurate navigating service plays an important role in helping the drivers to reach their destinations.The majority of traditional vehicle navigation systems are embedded systems, which may not satisfy the user well because of the limit of their physical equipment. Drivers usually concentrate on driving the car while driving, so that they have little effort to interact with the navigator. So a new and wonderful way of interactive mood is needed. Contrast to the traditional navigating systems, those using voice recognition has a better performance in terms of safety and utility, giving the users a better user experience.The android voice navigation system stated in this paper aims to solve the problem talked above. Realizing the condition of the developing of the smart phone, it applies the technique of voice recognition into navigation system, which make it more useful and friendly. Based on the3G wireless network and GPS service, the system can download the maps offline to save the mobile data. Users can adjust view of map according to their preferences; what’s more, they can also set the destination via inputting voice. The navigation system also supply the service like browsing the bus route, subway choosing, locating current place, map viewing, searching surroundings, navigating and so on. In a word, it is a wonderful solution to the urge of safety and utility for the navigation systems.
