With its wide speed range, high precision, high power factor, high efficiency and other out-standing features, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has already gradually replaced general DC motor and AC variable frequency motor in many fields. Today, our nation advocate that we need low-carbon, clean and efficient energy, and environmental friendly society, so PMSM is more as a representative of green industries role in more areas.Based on a SPM who has8poles, three-phase, type TSFA-5ST and1500W, the paper designed the vector control system with the basis of the optimal theory of stator current. With current-inner-loop and speed-out-loop, the experiment system increases the stability of the control system, using space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) to adjust the motor speed. In order to expand the speed range, this system has a simplified control method according to the stator current’s compensation theory for weak magnetic. It is compensated only direct axis current to improve the efficiency of software and to reduce the algorithm complexity. At he same time, in order to adapt to more different condition, the experiment system has a no-sensor mode based on model reference adaptive system (MRAS) theory. It sets the motor itself as reference model, also has a simplified adaptive system to adapt SPM that adjust the quadrature axis current’s error, in order to achieve speed and angle. Finally, for two different kinds of control mode, this paper designed two kinds of start methods, one is that initialize the angle by using the index signal of the encoder, the other take advantage of the salient pole effect to estimate the initial rotor position by using high frequency current.The hardware part sets DSP, presented by TI, as core MCU to design the main control circuit of the motor, HCPL3120and HCPL316J as driving core to design of IGBT drive circuit, UC3844as switch components designed a special switch-power. The software part uses mainly C language, partly assembles and CCS4.2development systems for the motor control programs. The experimental part shows the waveforms and experiment data, presenting the analysis of the related instructions to prove the correctness and feasibility.At last, this paper summarizes the conclusion, expounding the work and goals in detail.
