Natural disaster as an inevitable natural phenomenon, it causes startling harm, and generates huge menace on buildings and bridges, which lead to huge economic losses and casualties. So in order to reduce the economic loss and casualties, it is essential to establish a more perfect structural health monitoring system to monitor and diagnose the performance of the structure, which help us determine structural damage timely, forecast the possible disasters and estimate the structure safety.Nowadays the structural health monitoring system has been made a great development in the civil engineering structure, especially on the bridge structure. However, it is only used on some large-scale structures, and there is no monitoring system to the public. To make SHM more quick and convenient, a concept of cloud monitoring is proposed, and a series of exploration researches had been done. The contents and conclusions are as follows:1. The concept of cloud monitoring was proposed. Smartphones are selected as the cloud terminal and control center, and hope to realize the cloud monitoring preliminary by them. The development of smartphone, the parameter of the commonly mobile phone, and the sensing properties of the built-in sensor were introduced to prove the feasibility of mobile phone as a tool of cloud monitoring.2. A monitoring software system has been developed on the IOS platform in iphone4s. The software system includes data collection program, command control program, and network storage program, to realize the monitoring on location, acceleration, inclination and so on.3. The monitoring system was used in the tests of bridge cable force monitoring. The tests had been done in the lab, DaLian Hualu bridge and Harbin Sifangtai bridge respectively. In the test, piezoelectric acceleration sensor and force balance sensor were selected to compare with the built-in acceleration sensor of the smartphone. The results proved the cable force can be obtained accurately by smartphones, and through the results comparison, the feasibility of the system was proved.4. In order to develop the monitoring parameters of smart mobile terminal and overcome the difficult of displacement monitoring, a new displacement recognition method based on laser and image processing was proposed. Some experiments include static and dynamic were conducted to verify the feasibility of the method, and then the method was used on story displacement monitoring of the double-frame. The feasibility is confirmed by camera displacement monitoring, which lay the foundation for follow-up study. And,obviously, it is a low-cost method, which good for the application and promotion.
