In recent years, reinforced soil technology is in a growing number of applications, the pace of development is also very fast. It has got certain results in theoretical research, but theoretical research is still greatly lags behind the practice, norms and procedures remains to be improvement, there are also some constraints about geosynthetics in terms of performance and production. In actual construction, due to the imperfections of the theory and mechanism, the construction of reinforced soil technology is lack of specificity, the detection technology is unreasonable, the reinforced earth technology has a great deal of potential security issues and orwaste of resources in the project. In addition, the emergence of a large number of new reinforcement material and performance constantly updated, reinforced earth technology becomes more complex.This paper researched the application of the composite reinforced soil is based on the Tanzania Arusha-Namanga Highway105km project undertook by Jiangxi Geological Engineering (Group) Company. Tanzania, Arusha-Namanga105km road project is near the mountain city of Arusha in northern Tanzania to the north of Kenya. There is hilly topography, volcanic strata along the road. The project broadened the existing highway to8m, the four gorge along the road, roadbed width can not meet the requirements,4Canyon section of the No.21+699,25+423,26+341,30+518. The slope of the working point is too high, usually10~20m, usual earthworks filling unable to meet the strength requirements, so reinforced earth filling embankment is used to broaden considering all aspects. Reinforced gabion structure type is adopted in reinforced earth design, by calculating the slope stability of the two working points can not meet the safety requirements. After careful consideration and research, a new type of composite reinforced gabion structure type is reinforced design to achieve the security requirements.A layer of high-strength geogrid is set on some part reinforced layer according to the actual situation on the basis of the original reinforced materials in composite reinforced gabion structure. This method does not change the types of reinforced earth as a whole reinforced, so that the slope stability can be significantly improved. This study of the use of reinforced earth expansion can play a reference for the project not meeting the security and stability requirements.The new reinforced earth construction technology is also researched and summarized in this paper through the construction process.
