Noncircular gear has the advantage of cam and cylinder gear, especially noncircular gear is used in the textile machine, instrument and apparatus and military project, but the practical case of noncircular bevel gear is rare. The study about noncircular bevel gear concerns on the gear hobbing and the design of model. There is no intensive study in basic parameter. The process of closed pitch curve turns greatly simplified since the helix angle introduced. In the other side, noncircular bevel gear is smoother than noncircular gear, little noisier, stronger, higher efficiency.Therefore, there is a broad application prospect.The main content includes as follow:1) Research of noncircular gearThe research of noncircular bevel gear basic parameter mostly bases on noncircular gear. Because it meshes in three-dimensional curve, it is more complicated than noncircular gear. By analyzing of noncircular gear, finding out the relationship and the distinction, this is the foundation about the noncircular bevel gear discussing.2) Calculation on the basic parameters of noncircular bevel gearThe design of the pitch curve turns more convenient than noncircular spur gear as adjust helix angle βto meet the condition. This paper will give the basic parameter calculation method, and applying the examples for showing it clearly.3) Condition with engaging correctly and successive transmission.This paper combines noncircular spur gear with noncircular bevel gear to find out the condition with engaging correctly and successive transmission. In addition, the calculation of contact ratio will clarify the actually transmission performance.4) Analysis strength of noncircular bevel gear meshingThere is not strength calculation of noncircular spur gear verifying by experiment, it always makes use of spur gears’. It will be similar to noncircular bevel gear.5) Simulating noncircular bevel gearCombining with deducing in theory, this paper will model a pair of typical noncircular bevel gear by three-dimensional software. Basing the model simulates the meshing condition, and analyzes stress in different points. This paper concludes the basic designing parameters of bevel noncircular gear, in the same time it analyzes the capability of engagement and transmission from the correct engagement condition, instant contact ratio, the calculation of strength.
