PMSM direct-Drive vector control solution is the most widely-adopted solution of drum-type washing machine solutions, which has advantages of high performance; high accuracy and wide dynamic range. With the development of modern control theory, computer technology and high power electronic devices, vector control will get more and more market share in the future. The main difficulty of sensorless DD-PMSM control system is the rotor position observer, field-weakening control, dead time compensation and vibration elimination.This paper focuses on the design solution of a PMSM direct-Drive drum washing machine. The main jobs are:(1) Design the control system framework according to the requirement specification.(2) Research the vector control algorithms according to the design specification and find a suitable control algorithm, Research the position-estimation observer and design a proper one for drum WM, Finally a combined solution of Back-EMF observer and PLL algorithm is implemented. The final algorithms are available in both mid-low speed and high speed, for dead time issue, design a compensation algorithm and simulate them.(3) Setup a dynamic model of drum washing machines and research the virbration problem. Develop several strategies to eliminate the vibration at different speed range. And simulate the algorithm.(4) Design the hardware platform of Drum WM control system with Toshiba TMPM374FWUG as the core processor.(5) Design the software platform of Drum WM control system, including the speed PI control, VE driver and coordinate system transform, load and torque adjustment, rotor position observer, software protection function, UART communication, digital to analog conversion (DAC).(6) Start joint system debug, review the test results and compare it with simulation results. The results show the correctness of the design solution in this paper.
