The reliability of product (a system or component) is a quality index with time property, which is defined as the ability to perform its required function under stated conditions for a specified period of time. Domestic and external research institutions and scholars have already put their emphasis on reliability now. Improving the reliability of the product quality, not only can prevent or reduce the failure or accidents, especially disastrous accident, and can shorten the development cycle, economize the development cost, reduce maintenance costs and other extra charges incurred by the low product reliability. Wind turbine is the most important product in the wind power generating process, and its reliability has been one of the key issues that the wind power industry encounters. The reliability of the drive system whose frequency of the failure accounts for more than half of the wind turbine’s appears to be especially important. On account of it, it is studied in this paper about the reliability analysis method of the drive system of the wind turbine. The thesis which contains the study of reliability analysis method of the wind turbine drive system is divided into four parts:(1) The first part deals with the failure model, effects and criticality analysis of the wind turbine drive system, finds out failure mode and failure cause of the wind turbine drive system, deals with the criticality analysis according to the risk priority number method and gets the failure mode which affects the system greatly;(2) Based on the system-level stress-strength interference model, the second part establishes reliability analysis model of wind turbine drive system, on condition that components which are independent of each other bear different loads and strength degradation occurs under repeated loading;(3) The third part carries on the computer experiment by Monte Carlo method to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the established reliability analysis model;(4) The last part edits the reliability analysis software of the wind turbine drive system in order to make this study be well applied to engineering practice.
