Research On The Design Of Artistic Conception In Historical Urban Landscape

With challenges from rapid development of urban, the Historic Urban Landscape(HUL), a new concept about protecting the urban heritage,has emerged in recent years. This concept stresses on the protection of the urban heritage in a wider framework of urban development. The publication of "Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape" by UNESCO suggested that this concept and method has been paid more and more attention.Based on the concept and principle of HUL, we propose a tentative HUL protection method in this dissertation after conducting a series of analysis in landscape artistic conception construction:landscape artistic reproduce. In the beginning, we analyze and extract the major vital elements in landscape artistic reproduce(LAR) design according to the principle of HUL general adoptability. With these important elements as cutting point, we conduct LAR analyses for cases both within China and overseas. Thereafter, with the HUL framework, we propose LAR methods, key points as well as approaches that secured the persistence. After all, on the base of LAR methods we proposed before, we apply it to the design of the Historical District of Xuancheng City downtown. To conclude, the theory and method of protection and design of the historical district of small and medium sized city has been discussed in the paper, in order to improve the level and the awareness of the protection of urban historic landscapes in China.
