This research is on the high-filled foundation treatment of collapsible loess. Based on theresults of in-site tests over a large project of foundation treatment, an appropriate method isselected. An analysis on monitoring data in field is completed and the settlement regularity ofthe collapsible loess high-filled foundation on is gotten. A simulation of the constructionprocess is also fulfilled and it provides a new method for the design and construction ofsimilar project. The main contents are as follows:Considering the characteristics of collapsible loess, six kinds of schemes for thefoundation treatment are selected in situ test. After synthesis of technique, economic andschedule, a method of vibration rolling combined with dynamic compaction is confirmed forthe collapsible loess high-filled project. The index of the compaction degree is more than93%and the corresponding construction crafts and parameters are given.Based on the analysis of in-site monitoring data, it is found that the deformation ofcollapsible loess high embankment foundation is highly affected by the terrain and thethreshold value for the height of high-filled ground is gotten.In the simulation of construction process the software FLAC3Dis chosen. The simulationresult is in almost conformity with the actual results. This indicate that the simulation methodis feasible while predicting the settlement high fill in collapsible loess area. This is a new wayfor similar project.
