ABSTRACT:With the development of intelligent transportation technology, the demand for accurate vehicle location information is becoming more and more urgent. To get the purpose of navigation, now the mature GPS global positioning technology allows vehicles traveling on roads to access their location information by satellites at any time. However, the signal will be interfered by any other reasons when vehicle communicate with the satellite, such as signal reflection, signal blocking, which seriously damage the communication quality, leading to inaccurate vehicle location and cause unnecessary troubles. Combined with the current emerging RFID technology, the transportation system can get an upgrade and optimization. This can not only assist the vehicle to location, but also can help vehicle solve a series of traffic problems.This paper studies the problem of assistant localization based on RFID technology. At first, we describe the current research on intelligent transport systems and positioning systems, mainly focus on the necessity and innovation for assistant localization algorithm. Then we introduce the basic principles, framework and future development of RFID-based intelligent transportation system. Next, in order to ensure the high efficiency of correction for vehicle position, we propose an algorithm for vehicle position correction, using vehicle intercommunication and the advantages of RFID tags paved on road, not only obtain accurate position of the vehicle that carry the RFID reader, but also allow the vehicle that carrys no RFID reader to estimate position to assist positioning system correct the location. Because RFID-based intelligent transportation system has not yet been put into mass use, we build simulation platform OMNeT++to implement the algorithm presented in this paper.In this paper, we simulate several different road conditions to implement and test algorithm.
