ABSTRACT:The urban rail transit system is the key system to ease traffic congestion in big cities, which plays a significant role in urban life. Automatic train operation (ATO) system is the core subsystem of the urban rail transit system, and its reliability is of great importance to the efficiency of the urban rail transit system.Most of the ATO systems are equipped respectively on both the head and the tail of the train without complete redundancy. When there is a degraded operation caused by system failures occurred in the process of train operation, the efficiency of the whole line can be reduced severely. Therefore, the design of complete head-tail redundancy has become a hot topic in urban rail transit area.According to the problems of the incomplete head-tail redundant ATO system, a complete redundant system was proposed based on the previous research achievements, and the reliability of the system was analyzed. Moreover, the hardware and software was designed, and the effectiveness of the system was verified by simulation. The main research work of this thesis is as follows:First of all, a complete head-tail redundant strategy was proposed to solve the head-tail redundant problem, the Markov model of the system was formulated. Then the reliability of the completehead-tail redundant system was quantitatively analyzed, which confirmed that the complete head-tail redundant system is highly reliable.Secondly, an ATO system hardware frame was proposed and designed for the sake of achieving the complete head-tail redundancy, and the corresponding implementation method was studied.Additionally, according to the functional requirements of the ATO system, the overall design of the software was designed to achieve the complete head-tail redundancy, subsequently the functional software was developed.Finally, a simplified ATO system with complete head-tail redundancy was constructed. Moreover, the simulation of the redundant system was accomplished based on the urban rail transit simulation platform, and the effectiveness of the system proposed was verified.
