Space scanning mechanism is an important part of many space optical remotesensing instruments. It can be used to reflect the optical signal of the earth’s surface,to increase the FOV of the optical system, to increase the integration time of thesystem, etc. Its performance can directly effect the overall performance of theoptical remote sensing instruments. To meet the application requirements of limbscanning mechanism used in FY-3ultraviolet ozone profiles hyperspectral sounder,this paper mainly completed the following design:1. This paper studies related literature of lubrication and labyrinth seal, andthen angular contact ball bearings and grease are chosen to be shaft support andlubricants, considering the need of long life and high precision of scanningmechanism and its special working environment. The mathematical model ofelastohydrodynamic lubrication for bearing was established, and the full numericalsolution of EHL was carried out. Based on the numerical solution, the optimizationof many related parameters and the analysis of lubrication life were completed.Based on related study of labyrinth seal and considering the application need, thedesign of combined type of labyrinth seal structure was completed, and the leakageof the design structure was carried out.2. The research and application condition of scanning mechanism wasinvestigated. Considering the working environment and the technical requirements of scanning mechanism, the structural design was carried out, including theultr-lightweight design of the mirror assembly, the design of driving andtransmission assembly, the selection of motor and encoder, and the design of flexibleand rigid support structure. Finally a complete design was given.3. Simulation analysis and experimental testing were implemented to detect theperformance indicators of scanning mechanism, and finally verify the correctness ofdesign.4. A summary of research which has been completed was made, and thendiscuss the future research.
