The Research Of Contemporary Architecture In North Korea

In today’s world, with the waves of era, there are a lot of architectures withoutregional characteristics and cities without cultural feature. In this case, thelocalization of architectural creation returns to the sight of people, and becomes themainstream of the current architectural creation.In the innovation wave of architectural creation, according to its closed nature,North Korea has kept a better national style and traditional quality. To express in thebuilding is that to synthesize the local traditional architectural style; to convey anational emotion, habits, aesthetic consciousness, cultural characteristics and socialtraditions with a modern vocabulary and technique; to reflect worship of leaders andcollectivism consciousness. In the Korean contemporary architectural creation, therewas a short a period of imitation, but with the development they are graduallyexploring a unique native creation way.From an objective point of view to analysis, as a war-torn nation, and manyfactors from the nature of the state and political strategy postwar which directlyaffect the development of Korea local architectural creation. As practitioners ofNorth Korea’s local architectural creation, how to deal with the contradictionbetween local and foreign architectural culture, has become the first question thatKorean architects to consider.In this paper, through theoretical analysis and on-the-spot investigation, and theresearch of Korean architectural creation development history in recent years, sortout the achievements which the Korean contemporary architecture carries forwardthe traditional culture and carrying on the innovation at the same time. The authortries to explore the architectural creation system with its strong political overtones,and how it from being closed and rejecting the outside world culture to integratingthe world architectural culture. From the "ancient architecture heritage andprotection"," introduction and absorption of new creative elements","the nationalregion integration and derivation" and many other issues, to reveal the mystery ofthis nation, and from an objective point of view to interpret this extraordinaryprogress.Because of the unique national conditions in North Korea, the contemporaryarchitectural creation also reflects the distinctive regional characteristics andideological features. This paper based on the contemporary architecture inPyongyang, briefly summarize the features of contemporary architecture in North Korea, and analyze the influence factors of the creation, Focused on the creationtechnique of Korean native architecture, and explain a unique case study onlocalization of architectural creation from an international perspective. Summed upthe creation technique on localization of Korean contemporary architecture creation,and carries on the overall assessment, in order to fill the gaps in the study onlocalization of Korean contemporary architectural creation, and try to provide themost intuitive reference through this research on localization architectural practicefor our country.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction, including research background, purpose,significance, research status at home and abroad, and the research contents andmethods.The second part summarizes the various characteristics, influencing factors,methods and trends of contemporary architecture.The third part clarifies the Korean local architectural works, and summarizesthe development condition of contemporary architecture in each period, andclassifies the types of contemporary architecture.The fourth part summarizes the characteristics, creation techniques andinfluencing factors of Korean contemporary architectural creation, and make aoverall evaluation to the creation.
