AC electric freight locomotives are widely used in East Lake electric locomotive depot traction of DaTong-QinHuangdao line to lead the20,000tons overloaded trains,the traction motor shaft and pinion shaft locomotive of JD160type had occurred twelve failure fault during May2010to March201l,in order to prevent the occurrence of this failure and to improve the overall quality of the motor and increase the security and stability of the HXD1electric locomotive,we make finite element analysis on locomotive motor shaft and pinion shaft.In this paper,take mechanics of materials for the stress analysis of the interference fit as the theoretical basis to calculate the initial amount of interference,use the application3D modeling software Pro/E to establish the traction motor shaft and pinion shaft geometry model,mesh the analysis model by the finite element pre-processing discrete software HyperMesh and set the parameters and exposure in the nonlinear finite element analysis software ABAQUS,at last make the finite element contact simulation analysis,analysis on the stress-strain curves and contours drawn conclude that pinion shaft and motor shaft fracture due to the micro-cracks created by the sump of the shaft portion stress concentrated are formed in a large segment as their own rotation and exposed to stress condition periodically varies from time to time, resulting in fatigue fracture.In the interference amount both can guarantee the delivery of torque and without destroying the motor shaft and pinion shaft,select a different interference amount comparative analysis,and get the optimal interference amount by the stress curve comparison chart;Under the optimum interference amount,set different friction coefficient to compare stress curve,and chose the optimum friction coefficient;Finally, with comparing the finite element analysis results of with and without the consideration of the centrifugal force, we can obtain the influence of the centrifugal force on the contact stress, the rotational speed did not achieve loose speed when it is2500r/min,so it has little effect on the stress, but the influence of centrifugal force can not be ignored.
