Francis turbine holds a large proportion in Hydropower stations, runner isthe core compoments of realization energy conversion, the choice of Francisturbine runner is generally determined by the working water-head, andaccording to the similarity principle to manufacture. Because the actual workingconditions of each hydropower stations are not identical, it may lead to theturbine runner cannot meet the design goals, so we need according to the actualworking conditions to optimize the turbine runner design. In this paper, based onthe turbine runner HL160as an example of optimization and dynamic propertyresearch which used on energy test platform. First of all, turbine runnerparameterized model based on the BladeGen, calculation the turbulence flowof the hydropower turbine under actual operation conditions, constantlyoptimize the runner structural according to the flow field calculation results,until the runner blade passages for the flow field is optimized and energyperformance is guaranteed, test out the turbine runner applicability to loadfluctuation and fine-tune runner structural, output the optimized runnerstructural parameters at final.Analysis the dynamic characteristics of the optimized turbine runner.Calculating the runner modal in the air and underwater, analysis different ordermodal and water influence on intrinsic mode. And then use the fluid-structureinteraction method to calculate the turbine, analysis the runner blade strain andstress distribution characteristics with fluid structure interaction and doublefluid structure interaction method.The draft tube pressure pulsation is an important vibration source, calculateturbulence flow field of the optimized turbine, examine the flow field inside thedraft tube and pressure distribution. Operating the working condition withpartial load, and analysis the flow field and vortex. There are certain referencesignificance to safe operation.Under the actual operating conditions, the runner is optimized by using themethod of CAD-CAE, it has a practical significance to ensure the quality of theproduct design. Analysis of the dynamic performance of the wheel and draft tube pressure pulsation, it has certain reference significance to the safeoperation.
