As one of the main spreading forms of civil construction in the future----thehigh-rise light steel structure housing, possessing high efficient construction, goodenergy saving, high economic indicators, superior seismic performance, sustainabledevelopment, etc. But compared with foreign countries, high-rise light steel structureresidence in china started late, design and construction technology is backwardrelatively, which hindered the development of the high-rise light steel structure housingat home.The main research contents and results are as follows:Documents about high-rise light steel structure at home and abroad are compared,the current situations of development are analyzed, the structure characteristics of lightsteel structure are summarized. Then the design philosophy, seismic design method andthe main reasons in earthquake are stated.Using the STAWE modules in PKPM, established2kinds of commonly usedhigh-rise light steel structure housing (6floor and12floor respectively).pure framestructure system, supported frame structure system and frame-core tube system of steelstructure are adopted. The biggest displacement, the interlayer displacement anglebetween the layers are analyzed at6,7and8earthquake magnitudes. Finally it isconcluded that the different intensity areas suiFig for aseismatic structure system.Through the contrast analysis, when the pure frame structure system is adopted at6floor, The figures of biggest displacement and the interlayer displacement anglebetween the layers are not changed too much at different earthquake magnitudes, so it iseconomic and reasonable when the number of floor levels is6or less. However,conditions of the12floor frame structure are complex. when the transverse andlongitudinal stiffness difference is not so much and at6or7earthquake magnitudes, thepure frame structure system is suiFig, but if the transverse and longitudinal stiffnessdifference is too much the supported frame structure system will be better. But at8earthquake magnitudes, no matter how the transverse and longitudinal stiffness different,the supported frame structure system is better. The frame-core tube structure systemowned the best seismic performance, but it cost too much, so6and12layers of lightsteel structure residence is not recommended.
