At present, the study of special-shape steel column mainly concentrates on open section steel column welded by the H-shape section, and has got many research results about it. But the study of special-shape closed section has not been found, so the stability of it is still unknown. In this paper, the stability of T-shape closed section steel column and its calculation method are studied based on the study of T-shape open section steel column.At first, the buckling load formula of T-shape closed section steel column under two-way bending and axial compression is derived based on the theory of thin-walled bar, and derive the relevant section geometric features. Secondly, eigenvalue buckling analysis of T-shape closed section steel column is studied by ANSYS, and compared with theoretical calculating value to verify modeling is feasible. Next,to study the influence on the stability capacity of T-shape closed steel column by geometric defects and residual stress through the parameters of slenderness ration and width-thickness ration. At last, get the (?)-φ curve of T-shape closed section steel using ultimate load theory, compared with the column curve of steel structure standard supplying reference for actual engineering design.
