Production and operation of modern container terminals, general requirements to improve the efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation and emissions reduction. The efficiency of container terminal operation mainly refers to two aspects:one is shipping operation efficiency; Secondly, the collection efficiency. Shipping operation efficiency refers to the single bridge shipping operation efficiency, given ensure ship movement and shipping companies, as well as the equipment operation parameters, operation personnel configuration, are generally more stable, relatively easy to meet the requirements of all parties. The collection efficiency, compared with single bridge shipping operation efficiency, is not ideal. Each container terminal mainly face overtime than high collection, collection peak road congestion, operating post collection collection to rear yard control difficult, prone to mix pile when busy wait for a phenomenon.Based on the statistical analysis of the DFHL terminal operational data, this paper puts forward new problems faced by the trucks appointment system. It analyzed the factors that influence the operational efficiency of yard cranes deeply, and proposed the specific measures of reengineering DF terminal’s yard cranes operation process under the trucks appointment system. The we developed a perfect operating system, Intelligent Storage Space Allocation System, to extend the function of existing CTMS system. The long-term benefit of Intelligent Storage Space Allocation System is estimated finally. The results show that, the Intelligent Storage Space Allocation System can not only reduces the proportion of overtime and the operational time of container allocation process, but also improve the operation efficiency of yard cranes effectively.Through the analysis of the affecting factors in this paper, the container collection efficiency and the study of solution, and DFHL in tianjin port container terminal co., LTD., this mode has always been committed to innovation and process improvement of container terminal handling enterprises as case analysis, hope to offer valuable advice to improve the collection efficiency of container terminal.
