Engineering projects vary in terms of construction and maintenance depending on the site and the surrounding environment, and climate factors. The wind blowing sand is the one of the disasters that threatens infrastructure such as highway, railways and infrastructure projects, the needs for infrastructure in the desert and decertified areas increasing because of population, economy and other factors, desert and desertified areas requires further studies to understand it’s problems and identify the technical solutions to control it. Our country will need to built highways in areas like this, which will also meet a lot of wind-blown sand, filling roadbed need to adopt different silt content, For example, The(Hodeidah- Mokha) Highway was finished in 2003 with length of 170 km and connects Hodeidah southward to Mokha, Highway extends along the Red Sea coast, passing through wide sandy area that surrounds the highway, Aeolian sand containing different soil. Which mean we will need this kind of foundation soil as roadbed filling. With treatment for the soil we can use it as roadbed filling, experimental study is necessary to understand these technical problems. At present, to a certain of silt content performance of Aeolian sand, its related experimental research.Using the existing results aboard and home, combining it with the construction of the Hudaydah-Mokha highway, the Aeolian sand with different silt content are studied systemically. The main research as follows:(1)Through the indoor tests, the paper approaches the physical properties of Aeolian sand with different silt content, and analysis of the engineering geology character are obtained firstly.(2)The compacting properties and the compacting mechanism of Aeolian sand with different silt content are studied based on the compacting test of Aeolian sand with different silt content.(3)By series of tests for strength and deformation, the strength and deformation properties of Aeolian sand with different silt content are explored, and the influencing rules of the strength and deformation tests based on the laboratory tests are analyzed.(4)According to the tests above, the variation range of mechanical properties for Aeolian sand with different silt content are revealed. Following these results, the choice of the biggest dry density is obtained.(5)In view of the results obtained, the performance of Aeolian sand with different silt content in road are appraised systemically, and the rang of silt content fitting for subgrade material is achieved.
