In recent year, the rapid economic development and the prevalence of energy products cause a large supply gap of energy. With the grouth of population,non-renewable energy sources cannot meet the huge demand. Wind energy as a widely distributed, clean, non-polluting, renewable energy, has huge social, economic and environmental value. In this paper, Switched Reluctance Generator(SRG) is researched in wind power generation systematic used. In order to improve output power and efficiency of Switched Reluctance Generator system, the control characteristics and excitation modes of SRG has been researched. Then, a new algorithm that based on divide speed into parts then design fuzzy controller control Maximum Power Point Track(MPPT) is proposed.The detailed research works can be listed as follows:(1) The basic theory and composition of SRG wind power system was introduced,and a 12/8 pole switched reluctance generator mathematical model was established according to the basic differential equations of SRG. Base on the SRG mathematical model, the relationship between phase current with the motor position angle was discussed and simulated. Also the wind turbine mathematical model ware established and simulated.(2) A new SRG excitation mode is proposed in this paper. Used the high excitation voltage, low generation voltage control methods improve motor efficiency and system energy conversion efficiency. The experiment has been done in MATLAB simulation platform.(3) A new algorithm that based on divide speed into parts then design fuzzy controller control Maximum Power Point Track(MPPT) is proposed. By the new MPPT algorithm, there is no need to obtain the characteristics of wind turbine or measure the wind speed. It can automatically judge which parts the wind turbine speed belongs to, then dominate the disturbance step of SRG phase current, at last quickly and stably track the maximum wind energy.(4) The 20 kW SRG experimental platform which used the microcontroller MPC82G5160 A as core CPU has been setted up. The controller hardware circuit is composed of power converter circuit, signal detection circuit and control-protect circuit. In addition, the PC software is also designed. System working status such as phase voltage, phase current, generation voltage, generation current and so on, can becollected and mapped on the PC software.(5) Generation experiments have been done on 20 kW SRG hardware platform,such as measuring SRG phase winding unsaturated inductance value, testing the generation performance by variable opening angle or turn off angle, compare experiment system using region-boost excitation mode to system using traditional asymmetrical half-bridge excitation mode.
