With the development of high-speed railway in the rapid construction of our country, and the continuous increasing of train speed from 120 km/h up to 300 km/h or more, it not only brings great convenience to people’s daily life, but also puts forward higher requirements on the coverage of mobile communications. However, GSM-R is an important wireless communication system, which can provide data transmission channel between the train control systems and the wireless train dispatching systems. The dissertation proposes the specific wireless coverage scheme in the practical application, which has mainly solved the problems of network coverage of GSM-R wireless communication for Lan-Xin high-speed railway.First of all, this dissertation introduces the background of GSM-R wireless network and its application situation at home and abroad, and then in the process of the Doppler Effect generated by the high-speed train, the loss of various kind of cars is tested and analyzed, and the loss values of car body used in this dissertation are used in the chosen scheme. Using the suitable propagation model to calculate the maximum path loss and cell EIRP, the size of the adjacent two overlapping handover area is calculated so as to determine the distance between stations according to different train speed.On the basis of theoretical research, a coverage scheme of Lan-Xin high-speed railway is proposed, including coverage mode, coverage planning, capacity planning, network strategy, special scene coverage scheme and equipment selection. The specific program is designed according to practical situation of Lan-Xin high speed railway, including the wireless network coverage scheme, specific site scheme, capacity setting, and so on. The BTS+GRRU network scheme is used to cover the high speed railway. Meanwhile, the radio train dispatching system of GSM-R is analyzed and realized. The analysis of the testing results show that the scheme improves the wireless coverage effect and has a certain reference value for the wireless network construction of Lan-Xin high-speed railway.
