With the progress of manufacturing technology, labyrinth seal gradually replaces the traditional packing seal by excellent environmental protection, avoiding friction loss, and without lubrication characteristics, and it applies to the reciprocating compressor sealing mechanism system. But since the theoretical labyrinth seal structure machining process is relatively complicated and high requirement of processing technology, it restricts the extensive application of labyrinth seal. Therefore, the enterprise puts the labyrinth seal processed into helical gear, which is continuous spiral teeth and helical groove to simplify the process and improve the economic benefit in the actual production process. The helical gear is similar to the spiral seal in the aspect of structure form, and we call it a kind of labyrinth seal. But it also exist differences with labyrinth seal in the sealing mechanism and sealing performance under the special processing technology.For the above differences, it can construct a three dimensional type of labyrinth seal model based on computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT platform, using numerical simulation method for a kind of labyrinth seal cavity internal flow field analysis. And we studied the structure of special influence on sealing performance, compared with labyrinth seal on the mechanism of sealing and sealing performance, and discussed bore and piston on the surface of the spiral groove spin to cooperate to affect the performance of sealing, and analyze the feasibility of the mode of production as providing theoretical basis for special processing technology in the practice production enterprise labyrinth seal. Finally, we carried through optimization analysis for the main influent performance parameter of kind of labyrinth seal. The main research work is divided into the following sections:1. Labyrinth research status seal is summarized, related theories to the labyrinth piston compressor and labyrinth seal are emphatically expounded.2. The paper theoretically reveals its working mechanism based on the special kind of labyrinth seal structure and combined with computational fluid mechanics, and check the calculation formula and make it applicable to the type of labyrinth seal.3. Numerical calculation is determined based on the special structure, kind of labyrinth seal model, the internal flow field using FLUENT software analysis kind of labyrinth seal and verify feasibility of labyrinth seal.4. Analysis on kind of labyrinth helical teeth on both sides of sealing performance, analyzed the influence of different structure size conditions on the sealing performance, and several important parameters of type of labyrinth seal cavity structure optimization, to improve the sealing performance, provide reliable data for practical production.
