With the development of the market economy,many power enterprises have recognized that the reliability of the generating equipment is important for the new market demand, and is also essential prerequisite of the competition. The Planned Maintenance which formed in long time has been not adapted to the development of modern enterprises. Therefore, it is significant for improving the reliability of the generating equipment and the security and stability of the production, increasing the benefit of the power plant, and transforming the maintenance mode from Planned Maintenance to Condition Based Maintenance and Elaborate Maintenance by the health monitoring and remote fault diagnosis for the generating equipment.This thesis is based on the ―Precise Diagnosis and Remote Diagnosis Management‖ which implemented in China Huadian. It set up the basic structure and solutions of the health monitoring and remote fault diagnosis for the generating equipment based on plenty of practices and theoretical studies, researched and validated the key technology during the project executing. At first, this thesis analyzed the failure mode and characteristics of the major equipment in the power plant, designed the general health monitoring schemes for the generating equipment, and designed the network framework of the remote diagnosis system.Second, this thesis introduced the diagnostic rules and procedure of the Expert Automated Diagnostic System(EADS), and the operating principle of EADS by taken an example as diagnosing an imbalance, then discussed how to improve the veracity of EADS in practice. The remote diagnosis function is based on the data replication with the Internet. Using the client/server architecture and open data interface of the Sybase, the Replication transmits the data by scans and shares the log files of the database.At last, this thesis studied some key technologies of health monitoring for the major auxiliary equipment in the power plant. Using ultrasonic inspection and measurement for detecting partial discharge of the high-voltage electrical equipment, using Electrical Signal Analysis(ESA) technology for analyzing the high-voltage asynchronous motors and using impact demodulation for detecting rolling elements bearing fault are also studied and practiced in this paper. The planet gear in the medium speed mill fault diagnosis is also studied simply.This thesis used the mature and advanced technologies in the world nowadays and based on the practical experiences, and verified the practicability and scientificity of health monitoring and remote fault diagnosis for the generating equipment by implementing ―Precise Diagnosis and Remote Diagnosis Management‖.
