Chinese cave dwellings on the Loess Plateau is a unique product, but also the treasures of the ancient buildings. In recent years, the rapid development of the huge impact of industrial culture and economy brought cave dwellings became a symbol of poverty and backwardness, is slowly being abandoned by people.This paper first provides an overview of Chinese cave dwellings, elaborated from the natural conditions of the Loess Plateau, the historical evolution and the distribution and types of cave. Select the green building concept is a meeting point, through field trips,visits and access to collect large amounts of data, the use of architectural theory, analyze the reasons for the decline cave.
