The Automatic Fare Collection(AFC) system realizes the automation of vending, checking, ticket managing and so on. It’s an important auxiliary equipment of city rail transit system. According to the demand of the reader for the AFC in the rail transit system, this paper designs and implements a kind of reader for the system. The main contents of this paper are as follows.(1) The platform for the system development is based on the embedded micro-controllerof ARM9 and the embedded Linux operating system.This paper introduces ahardware design which takes the micro-controller as core of AT91RM9200, and themain control module circuit, reader RF circuit, antenna circuit and filter circuit forelectromagnetic compatibility.(2) With the deep analysis on the working principle of the main control module and RFmodule of the reader, the drive for the read-write module of smart card is designed.The paper designs the application layer software of the reader through a detailedanalysis.(3) According to the reader performance and the basic content need to be tested,it hasbuilt a test platform,and introduces the contents of the hardware, software testing.This reader has already passed the online test of the AFC system in some city.It willbe put into use in the near future.
