The development of economy and city improve the living standards of urban residents, more and more people begin to enjoy social entertainment activities participating in the public space. To alleviate the urban traffic problems and ensure the harmonious development of city, developing public transport and encouraging the public transit are advocated and supported by society. Pedestrian traffic as the most basic modes of transportation throughout the travel has always been, how to ensure the efficiency and safety of pedestrian travel to improve the level of service is one of the main problems plagued the development of public transport. Because pedestrian traffic mainly appear in the connecting link in the process of travel, such as the first to enter the public transport system, transfer and the end of the travel link, it is necessary to study the convergence aspects of work to do.The movement of pedestrians in a public space includes single direction, bi-directional, reciprocated and crossing flow etc. which in crowded conditions may cause a serious accident such as trampling. In large public transportation such as subway station, train station, and intensive population buildings such as the zoo are strictly avoid pedestrians streamline crossing, but it is usually exist in the general public space streamline crossover phenomenon. For city bus rapid transit(BRT) as an example, the channel mouth entrances, station and infrastructure bottlenecks, because the differences of traveler to enter and leave characteristics, infrastructure construction and traffic rules lead the phenomenon of line flow to crossing, affect pedestrian comfort and safety. Based on the research mechanism of traffic transportation, this paper analysis the characteristics of crossing streamline at entrance of BRT station and put forward the organization optimization measures of crossing streamline from micro-aspects and macro-aspects. The following is the main content of this article:1.The paper first expounds the study of the pedestrian traffic situation at home and abroad, and then takes the crossing pedestrians as research object; by actual survey methods obtaining a large number of basic data about crossing pedestrians, it analysis of the basic characteristics of cross pedestrian flow combining with the relevant data.2. According to the characteristics of the crossing pedestrians’ the way of walking, it sets up the crossing pedestrians’ cellular automata model and analysis this from micro level.3. Combining the factors which led to the pedestrian walking line crossing, we put forward the corresponding traffic organization optimization strategy of crossing line from pedestrian walking characteristics and the space layout of the facilities two aspects. Setting the BRT stations at ANNING district in LANZHOU as an example, this article analyses the reason that there are crossing pedestrians at the entrance and puts forward reasonable organization optimization scheme.
