In the modern water supply and sewerage engineering, reinforced concrete basin as a kind of special structure, is widely used in reservoir treatment tank, drain well, life, etc. The results show that the cost of the pool directly affects the operating costs of water stations so that designers try to get the optimal project by analyzing structural layout, selection of materials, component size and so on.With the diversification of technological conditions and technical innovation, the required standards of pool structure are also gradually improved. For domestic scholars there are two main approachess in studying concrete pools: numerical simulation and field test. However they most of them concentrate on crack control processing and the interaction between basin slab bulge and foundation, which is difficult to provides effective quantitative reference for the engineering design. Especially for those pool with the structures like variable thickness wall, pull beam and help pilaster, designers tend to separate the wall and floor, simplify the modeling, not considering mutual restraint between the wall and wall, wall and floor. Therefore the analysis results with actual internal force distribution and the size are different. Also those pool construction are neither safe nor economical. This paper uses the theory of finite element and software tools to do the following work on the design of a pool of Guizhou Tongren area。(1). Summarize the methods and steps of the design structure of rectangular reinforced concrete poolAlso, give an elaborate recommendation ofload construction materials, structural measures, the pool design should be considered and theultimate limit state and serviceability limit state checking in detail.(2). Drawn four structural designing schemes: uniform thickness programs mutation wall thickness program, tapered thickness programs and program Add grab pilasters. Under the same constraint condition, numerical simulation under different load combination, obtained the maximum displacement occurred at the long wall of the wall in the middle to the top position and the maximum displacement of performance: tapered thickness scheme> mutations wall thick> uniform thickness programs> add grab pilasters program, two variations of the wall thickness program in which displacement is close, pilasters supporting the program by an additional 500 mm thick long intervals on the wall to help effectively limits the wall studs displacement, thickness, etc. compared to the program, the maximum horizontal displacement is reduced by about 37%.(3) Based on the analysis of the structure of the four pools wall moment analysis, the result shows that: the level of the maximum bending moment at the corner area and large amplitude, the vertical portion of the maximum bending moment in the middle of the pool. District level corner Moment big small; small great moment on the vertical. Analysis based on simulation results obtained, pool structurally weak part in the use of state is on a qualitative description of the wall by the force of matches in corners and the middle portion of the base wall, this part of the conclusions and "Tank Manual".(4) The applicability of structural schemes was analyzed referring to the practical backgroud of engineering.Besides,by statistical anaysis of the amount of steel and concrete, comparative economic advantages and disadvantages of each basin plan, construction is economical and reasonable pool, so as to achieve the purpose of reducing investment. This paper has long been engaged in water and wastewater engineering design staff in the use of modern means of numerical calculation of reinforced concrete rectangular pool complex stress analysis, it may play a role of reference and edification.
