Research On The Design Application Method Of Green Resort Based On LEED

With the rapid development of human society, environmental issues have become a fundamental problem about survival and development of human beings. Throughout the world, construction industry is almost always an important pillar of economic development. However, the environmental metrics of construction such as energy and polluting emissions are highlighted compared to other industries. Thus, the conception of green building is proposed to maintain the sustainable development of construction industry. In recent years, resort hotels that are springing up nationwide have become one of the building types that cost a large amount of energy consumption. So it’s urgent and necessary to plan and design these hotels with the standard of green building.In this paper, LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), an American green rating system is researched and introduced firstly. The background, organizational structure, system content andcurrent certification status of LEED are elaborated respectively.Secondly,the conception and classification of resort hotels are analyzed.According to characteristics and main problems of these hotels, the necessity of greening is summarized. Via an in-depth dissection of the excellent hotels that have been authenticated by LEED, the referential value and application method of LEED in designing Chinese green resort hotels are discussed at five levels including Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources and Innovation in Design.
