The safe operation of the pump in the large pumping station is the basic guarantee for the water supply, while the fracture of the pump shaft causes serious economic losses.. In recent years to eight Yanhuanding pumping station pump shaft fracture and motor overload of practical engineering problems by field investigation, observation and theoretical calculation combining research methods, analysis of the pump long-term overload caused by the change of pump impeller diameter increases and the material is the main reason for the 32SA-19E of pump shaft fracture. Combined with the pump station, the concrete scheme of turning pump impeller is put forward to solve the pump shaft fracture problem, and provide a theoretical basis for solving pump shaft fracture problem. The main results and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) 32SA-19E eight Yanhuanding pumping station built in 1992 when the selected pump, the pump is the original 32SA-19 type water pump impeller by original 730mm, increased to 750mm used in the pumping station. After 2010 will be the original impeller casting variable for stainless steel welded impeller, pump flow and head than the original cast iron impeller is too large, shaft power increases, resulting in engine overload.(2) The pump station field measurement results show that the 32SA-19E type pump installs the stainless steel impeller of 750mm diameter, and the motor power is 618kW~670 kW. Compared with the nominal power 523kW of the original sample, the shaft power increased from 15% to 20%..(3) According to the eight Yanhuanding pumping station, the curve of cell length were analysis and calculation, the calculation results show that, actual before pool length than the theoretical calculation of the length of small 0.8m. The length of the front pool is short, the water inlet is a whirlpool, the parameters of the pump operation change, but also the cause of the overload.(4) For eight Yanhuanding pumping station pump shaft fracture reason and proposed turning impeller diameter decrease shaft power, solve the broken axis of the problem. Stainless steel impeller diameter should be less than 740mm.The results of this study not only to solve the eight Yanhuanding pumping station 32SA-19E pump shaft fracture problem provides theoretical basis and technical parameters, and for large high head pumping station management has certain reference value and reference.
