With the continuous improvement of living standards, the automobile gradually steps into more and more families. In order to improve the quality of life, a lot of leisure, tourism, exploration outdoor activities are popular. And NDS based tourist navigation system is highly demanded.The NDS tourist navigation service problems can be divided into two core features:routing and route guidance. The paper is focused on the analysis and design especially on detailed design and implementations.Routing is aimed to calculate a route from the current position of the vehicle to the destination for travelers on basis of map road network database. This paper will propose a driving experience oriented algorithm. The NDS data model is used to sharply reduce search scope; Bi-directional A* heuristic algorithm is designed to narrow more search scope by avoiding blind search; Consider the driving experience, intersection transition based cost model is proposed. The route guidance is directed to guide drivers by providing a series of flexible guidance information and instructions. The core problem is generation model of guidance information. Traditionally, turn by turn model does not cover more details in multi-phase steps with a unified model. The paper proposes a modified method:PaP-TBT guidance model by using a series of design patterns.This paper also introduces the proposal about new generation engine architecture and quality improvement methods. The performance, expansibility and reliability are put forward for the final high-end vehicle project.The solution of this paper has been verified in Android embedded mobile system. The tourist route could be easy to be calculated and provided for route guidance.
