Engineering rock stability problems often encountered in civil engineering construction. Due to the complex jointed rock mass, it is still difficulty to properly simulate the rock slope stability analysis. The block analysis model of jointed rock masses advantages and features than the finite element method, Making it one of the main methods to analysis complex jointed rock mass stability.Establishment of the block analysis model is critical, which directly reflects the distribution of discontinuity. Discontinuity not only control the mechanical properties of rock, but also affect the results of the analysis block model, Its impact on the results of the analysis is far greater than continuum models. However, the discrete element method (Discrete Element Method, DEM), represented by the block model analysis method is still unable to communicate with the continuous media methods(such as finite element) receive the same attention in the rock engineering analysis. In addition, its development and application is still subject to some constraints and the impact of key technologies. One of the difficulties is how to find a quick approach to generate a block analysis model which is consistent with the probability distribution of the discontinuities geometric parameters of the rock mass.In this paper, by taking the advantages of discontinuity network simulation technology, a pretreatment Matlab program is developed to simulate the rock joints data. Both the discontinuity network geometric diagram of a rock mass and a command file to generate the block analysis model in UDEC software, can be obtained by the pretreatment program. By running the command file in UDEC, the block analysis model can be quickly generated, which should be in agreement with the corresponding rock mass. A slope case study is presented in this paper. Slope stability analysis is carried out for the block analysis model generated by the method of this study, and models generated by the UDEC block model generator. The analysis result, Discrete fracture network models in this paper, which is divided block structure in line with the distribution of rock mass, and the smaller the degree of dispersion of safety factor. The case study shows the modeling scheme to generate the block analysis model for complex jointed rock mass is available and effective.
