Study On Construction Of Multi-functional Outdoor Space In University Campus

In the contemporary university campus, multi-functional space complies with the growing trend of university, satisfying users’demand, further utilizing the land and increasing joy and vigor in the campus. This text uses functional theories about architecture and urban planning for reference and expands these theories through combining with the features of outdoor space. Taking surrounding multi-functional phenomenon as the entry point, this text makes a research on the outdoor space of university campus in the light of function.This text comes up with a concept and makes theory construction. Present forms of producing multiple functions by outdoor space are summarized. Starting from the existing multi-functional phenomenon, this text sets forth the features of the space of multiple functions. On this basis, the connotation of multiple functions is expanded and range of application enlarged. The idea of constructing diversified outdoor space of campus on the aspect of partial space, interscholastic level and intercity level is put forwarded.In the next place, analysis in the perspective of human activities, spatial dimension and time dimension is conducted. Concrete cases are made fully used to study the approach and range of application for constructing multiple functions so as to provide valuable evidence for properly shaping multiple functions of the space. The research on human activities emphatically summarizes users’ mentality and students’ activities to study the interrelation among activities. The relation between the functional properties and multiple functions of the space is studied in the light of spatial dimension to provide evidence for exploring the recombination of functions. Rules of campus activities are studied in the light of time dimension to analyze the factors of the dynamic change of outdoor space. Then specific practical cases of outdoor partial space for the campus of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University are utilized to demonstrate the features of multi-functional space and the leading factor of generation. In the end, principles, basic ideasand primary approaches of constructing multiple function of the space are summarized according to the analysis and the strategy for constructing multiple function of the space in university campus is raised.This text explores the connotation of multiple functions of outdoor space for university campus and widens the research on designing outdoor space to some extent in order to obtain the design thought for campus outdoor space. Design and constructing methods for the diversification of outdoor space are summarized to make a useful attempt to construct relatively complete design system so as to produce further extensive practical significance and reference value.
