With the expanding scale of the power system and the increasing complexion of the running way of the system, the contact between regional power grids is becoming more and more closer, and the power system stable operation contains more and more uncertainty factors. With the improvement of the power transmission capacity, the possibility of the region power failure causing a chain reaction becomes bigger. So it’s really of vital significance for the power supply reliability and power running safety to determine the fault components quickly.Using the alarm information, power system fault diagnosis determine the fault components timely and effectively, and provide rapid analysis assistant for scheduling personnel. Scholars at home and abroad has carried out extensive research in the power fault diagnosis field based on the switching information. Different methods has been raised to the diagnosis, such as expert system, artificial neural network, Petri net, optimization techniques, fuzzy theory, and so on. However, these fault diagnosis methods tend to require complete and accurate protection and circuit breaker information. As a result, the incorrect tripping, refusing action, information distortion and loss may cause an unsatisfactory diagnosis result just using switching information. Therefore, it’s very necessary to use new information sources for accurate and fast fault diagnosis.With the rapid development of computer technology and communication and control technology, PMU has been used widely at home and abroad, which promoting the formation and development of WAMS of large grid. WAMS can be used to acquire primary date of grid in real time, and then be applied to monitor the grid safety with the information transferred to the master system by power date dispatch network. It’s useful for accessing the grid dynamic operation and transient fault condition, which can provide new data source support for the realization of power fault diagnosis. Construction of integrated date dispatch platform and power fault information system also provides a convenience for the information fusion of fault diagnosis. As a result, the text proposes a method which combines switching information with electrical information in fault identification.First, this paper introduces the research background and trend of the development of fault diagnosis based on switching information and electrical information at home and abroad. Second, the paper analyses the advantages and disadvantages of the switching information and electrical information. Then fuzzy petri net is used to solve the protection and circuit breaker information, the current mutation index is used to indicate the fault diagnosis result based on electrical information. In the electrical fault diagnosis,0-1 integer programming method is used to solve OPP, which can realize the observability of power grid. Next, this paper uses the D-S evidence theory on information fusion. Finally, the comprehensive case simulation analysis verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method.
