With the development of power electronic technology, power electronic devices are developing to the direction of high frequency, high capacity and high power. The three phase PWM rectifier has been applied in SVC, UPFC, APF and renewable energy grid power system, because it has many advantages, like controllable power factor, sinusoidal grid current, Stable DC output and so on. However, the reliability of PWM rectifier is still At the stage of studying. Once the fault happened, the whole system would lose its function, it will effect industrial production. If the fault happened in the filed of aerospace or military,it would lead to catastrophic accidents. To improve the reliability of the system, reduce the accident rate, scholars pay more attention to fault-diagnosis and fault-tolerance technology. To reduce the effect of an open-switch fault in the three phase ac-dc pulse width modulation(PWM) converter due to problems with the switching device. The one-open switch fault case of six switching devices is analyzed in space vector PWM control algorithm, the reason of the distortion in grid side current and dc-link voltage ripple is explained from the command voltage vector synthesis point. A fault-tolerant control method without changing topology of converter is proposed to minimize the distortion in grid side current and dc-link voltage ripple. The correctness and usefulness of this method is verified by simulation and results.Using a method of generating DSP code by MATLAB, the simulation model is converted into the DSP program code, after optimizing the code, experiments further verify the validity of the fault tolerance algorithm.
