AIS (Automatic Identification System) is a digital navigation system, which helps to prevent the collision. It is a radio navigation device used in marine traffic control. Cooperating with GPS (Global Position System), AIS system can obtain the static and dynamic data reports, then broadcast the content through VHF channel to the ship and shore station near the waters. The ship and shore station adjacent to the sea, grasp all the static and dynamic information immediately, and communicate with each other timely. By this, they can take the necessary avoidance action which is helpful to the safety of the ship.In order to improve the reliability of the marine navigation and completeness of shipping, this research utilizes AIS shore station for positioning to supplement the GNSS satellite navigation system. This paper focuses on implementation of positioning algorithm based on AIS system.The subject uses the design of modular architecture technology and analyzes the demand of two-dimensional positioning based on the AIS system. The paper designs and develops positioning algorithm from two aspects including projection positioning and direct positioning. Considering demand the accuracy of positioning system, this topic uses TOA (Time of Arrival) algorithm and TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival). In order to improve the availability of the system, the subject uses the Mercator projection and the Gauss projection. And it builds the software testing environment in the VC++6.0 to verify the stability of this algorithm. Finally, by building a set of hardware platform ARM7, this paper tests the system in the environment of Keil software. The performance test of the positioning system and algorithm demonstrate the effectiveness of the system and the stability. The chip is used by LPC2378.The research content of this paper is the research of the national support project "high availability of new system of AIS ship navigation system" (2012BAH36B00) part.
