Along with the social and economic development in China, the shortage of water resources is increasingly severe and the uneven s seriously reduces the efficiency of water resources. To relieve the problem of uneven patial and temporal distribution of water resources, plenty of reservoirs and inter-basin water transfer projects are completed, so how to operate the reservoirs scientifically and transfer water reasonably is a problem to be solved.Dalian is short of water resources in type of quantity, and along with the completion Dahuofang Water Transfer Project, a water supply system containing Biliuhe reservoir,Yingnahe reservoir,Songshu reservoir,Dongfeng reservoir,Liuda reservoir,Zhuweizi reservoir and Dahuofang Water Transfer Project has been constructed, but a joint operation scheme of the reservoirs is scarce.This paper takes the water supply system in Dalian as the study obeject and aims to research the optimal joint operation of multi-reservoir under connected condition.The main research contents and results are as followed:(1) This paper analyzes the inflow data and reflects the necessity of the joint operation of multi-reservoirs from the viewpoint of the hydrology. Based on the characteristic of the projects in the study area and the analysis of the inflow and water demand, the difficulties and keys of the joint operation of the multi-reservoirs are proposed.(2) A framework called parameter-simulation-optimization which is applicable to the reservoir operation is introduced. Against the characteristic of the study area an operation rule based on the aggregation reservoir is proposed and then an optimizing model for the joint operation of multi-reservoir is established. The optimization method NSGA-â…¡ is applied to solve the model.(3) Considering the toplogy and water demand of current year, this paper studies on the joint optimizing operation of the main six reservoirs in Dalian, and obtains the joint operation charts and operation results. The rationality of the operation charts are analyzed qualitatively and quantificationally and the water quantity from Dahuofang Water Transfer Project in different conditions is studied.(4) Considering the problem that water demand in the programming year is too much to satisfy, this paper set up three operation situations. First, a solution is optimized to satisfy the planning water demand as possible as it can.Secondly, the maximum quantity of water that can be supplied for a year is obtained and as well as the corresponding operation charts and results. Finally, increase the water diversion from Dahuofang and calculate how much water should be increase to satisfy the water demand in the programming year.(5) Analyze the inflow data in the history and set up a special drought situation. A serious of emergency water supply policies are set out by increasing the transfer water..limiting the agriculture water supply,changing water distribution coefficient The result of the emergency operation is compared with that of normal operation-Decision makers can choice different policies from different angles.At last, it summarized the contents and resulst of this paper, and proposed some problems that need to be solved in the future.
